I live by these words. Every day I remember that I am a daughter of the earth and these words are all I need to remember to embrace the cycles of my life. Embracing the ancient cycles of the earth and moon give us the opportunity to connect deeply to all the ways in which our life can unfold. Then the dark and the light are given equal honor and the gifts of wisdom within each experience can be integrated into the soul. Our souls have come to weave many different kinds of teachings into itself. Trust the processes that you are in no matter how they feel. It is all meant to be in the great big picture of your life's journey. Let die what must die and open the door to the opportunities that lie before you. It is a great mystery; your life! Heart-Centered Therapy at MotherRoots!

I am so happy to offer you Heart Centered Therapy at MotherRoots Healing Arts. Heart Centered Therapy (HCT) is a process that is guided by the profound wisdom of the heart. The heart naturally knows how to unify and dissolve beliefs and mental constructs that may have held us in pain, confusion andseparation.

HCT offers deep healing without reliving the trauma as we are held in the safety, love and compassion of the heart. When we're able to stop identifying with who we are not, we are free to discover who we truly are!

We not only work in the present moment, but also access the original trauma where negative decisions and beliefs were formulated. The masterful dialogue techniques help to guide the client to connect fully with their own heart to identify and transform the emotional component of disease in the body, the related trauma, as well as the ancestral patterns that have sustained wounding within the immediate family and the family lineage. Inside this gentle and respectful process is a very direct, straightforward approach that pierces straight to the core of an issue.

This work will help your family to heal, deepen intimacy and enhance communication. People come because they want to heal, to be free, to love again and to be loved. HCT is an experience that restores hope. The depths of the work cannot be met until the heart is awakened. The heart is the key, the access point for the journey to begin. Roots Deep, Branches Rising
Women's Sacred Spirituality Circles

In the Roots Deep, Branches Rising circle, we gather in sacred space together to learn about and explore the earth-centered spiritual traditions. Although we honor the balance of the sacred masculine and feminine in society and in our spiritual path, we pay particular attention to the Divine Feminine Goddess in this group.

In our current circle, we are connecting with the energies of Fall. Autumn is a time to celebrate the abundance of the harvest time. At Autumn Equinox we honor the balance of light and dark. It is a traditional time to gather in community with others in gratitude for all we have received. In the spiritual sense, it's also a time to prepare for the coming dark and cold time of the year.

Autumn Equinox is the symbolic doorway that leads us into ourselves. In the fall we begin the journey down the spiral pathway that leads to the inner realms. Deep inside our sacred self is the home we return to where, in autumn and in winter, we rest, renew and transform ourselves. We pull our energy deep down into our roots as the plants, animals and trees of our region have taught us to do.

In autumn, in the traditions of the Triple Goddess, we call upon the Dark Maiden and the Crone to guide us through the wild woods of our own soul. We begin the journey, together, to the Underworld of Ourselves where we deepen and strengthen ourselves as women.

At Samhain we honored our ancestors and other Beloved Dead with a feast of their favorite foods and stories of remembrance.

Soon, our group will finish up with a Winter Solstice celebration and we will take a break for the month of January. Group will begin again at Imbolc in early February and at that time, we will open the doors for new women who would like to join us.

These are the ancient and forgotten adventures that our authentic self longs for!

The Descent of The Goddess

On the Seasonal Wheel of the Year, Autumn and Winter are times for introspection, reflection and dreaming. We enter the cooler, crisper, darker days of the year and feel pulled inward to our deepest self. We held a Red Tent this fall to offer space for women to gather together in preparation for our journey to these sacred inner realms.

Women's Healing Space

We gathered with other women for a restorative, relaxing evening where we could take off all the masks and "should's" and responsibilities of daily life and we allowed ourselves to simply BE...

The Earth poured forth her blessings at harvest time and we had so much to be grateful for!

One evening of deep peace in the Women's Red Tent can fill your well, nourish you, strengthen your soul and revitalize your body.

In the Red Tent women are welcome to participate (or not) in many different activities. There are nourishing soups and teas, snacks and desserts brought by women volunteers. One can rest or nap, sing or chant, tell their story, write in ones journal. There is always an art table set up with lots of paper, colored markers, sparkles, glue and one or two special projects. On this evening women made labyrinths and other designs of great beauty.

One of the favorite things of so many is the Divination Table. There are so many different kinds of divination cards to choose from including a special hand-made set I made that I call Wisdom From the Crone...it is a black velvet bag willed with magical trinkets...a skeleton key, a piece of lava, a medallion from Aruba, a Lion earring...There are tarot cards of every sort and animal totem cards and you-name-it!

We always have a talking circle that includes sharing around the group by those who feel comfortable to do so and there is singing and chanting and drumming and rattling together.

If you love to read, there are a million books to choose from! And some of us come to these gatherings to do nothing at all...We sit. We close our eyes. We listen to the sacred music surrounding us while we rest in the healing space of the Red Tent surrounded by pillows and fabric and the scent of white sage burning and the candles glowing and peaceful.

One of my personal favorite things to do is to sit at the altar and do one of many small rituals that are offered and suggested by me for the women who visit. An altar is set up that honors the energies of the season as well as the phase and constellation of the moon on any particular evening. On and around the altar are hand-written cards with several suggestions for rituals one might do while sitting at the altar. There are questions for reflection, special anointing oils, spiritual messages to choose from and often small symbolic things to walk away with.... "Hold onto this piece of corn, close your eyes, and begin to think of what you love in this world. Let this corn symbolize everything you are most grateful for in your life. Toss this into the wind on your ride home with a thousand blessings and thanks to the Universe for all the gifts you have received! And imagine that as it lands in the river you are driving over, or in the field beside you, it turn into a bright blessing for someone in need!"
